Rosemary and Thai Basil Spritzer

Summa Salt Product: Thai Basil

Serving Size:2

Ingredients:

  • 1 teaspoon of Summa Salt’s Thai Basil Salt

  • 2 sprigs of fresh rosemary

  • 2 tablespoons honey or simple syrup

  • 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice

  • 4 ounces vodka (optional)

  • Ice cubes

  • Sparkling water or club soda

  • Lime slices and extra rosemary sprigs for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the glass:

  • Place a small amount of water or juice on a plate. Dip the glass on the plate to wet the rim of the glass.

  • Grind Summa Salt Thai Basil Salt onto a separate plate.

  • Dip the glass onto the plate with the salt and roll the top of the glass to make the salt stick. Set aside.

  1. Prepare the Herb Infusion:

  • In a small saucepan, combine one sprig of rosemary and 2 sprigs thai basil with 1/2 cup of water.

  • Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer over medium heat, then reduce the heat and let it simmer for 5 minutes.

  • Remove from heat and let the herbs steep in the water for another 5 minutes.

  • Strain the infused water into a bowl or pitcher, discarding the herbs. Let it cool completely.

  1. Mix the Cocktail Base:

  • In a cocktail shaker or mixing glass, combine the cooled herb-infused water with honey or simple syrup and fresh lime juice.

  • If using vodka, add it to the shaker as well.

  • Fill the shaker with ice cubes and shake well to combine and chill the mixture.

  1. Assemble the Spritzers:

  • Fill two glasses with ice cubes.

  • Strain the cocktail mixture evenly into the glasses, dividing it between them.

  • Top with sparkling water:

  • Pour sparkling water or club soda into each glass, filling it to the top.

  • Stir gently to mix the cocktail with the sparkling water.

  1. Garnish and Serve:

  • Garnish each spritzer with a slice of lime and a sprig of fresh rosemary.

Serve immediately and enjoy! Serve immediately. If you prefer a sweeter spritzer, you can adjust the amount of honey or simple syrup to taste.
